On July 22, 1989, a man on his way to work found the body of 29-year old Freddie Lee Hicks. Hicks had been left for dead on railroad tracks in the 1000 block of Wauhatchie Pike. A medical examiner determined Hicks had been beaten to death with a blunt object, like a metal bar or a baton.
