Hamilton County, TN – Today, November 28th, at 11:00 am, Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond will host a brief press conference to formally announce the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has received a $250,000 COPS Hiring Program (CHP) Grant from the United States Department of Justice to hire (2) officers.

Last week, Sheriff Hammond received word from the Office of Attorney General Jeff Sessions that the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was one of only two agencies in Tennessee to receive the funding.

During the press conference, Sheriff Hammond will discuss how these two new (2) POST Certified personnel will be used in their new special roles in reducing crime in Hamilton County.

Sheriff Hammond will be available afterwards for comment and a media packet will be available for reporters who are present.
