Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were called to an address on Highway 60 last night at approximately 7:30 p.m. regarding a possible sexual assault. Detective Ric Whaley was called to the scene to initiate the criminal investigation. The eight year old victim and her mother were interviewed concerning the allegation. As the investigation progressed the suspect, William Bowman age 32 was interviewed and from that an arrest was made.

Mr. Bowman was arrested and charged with Aggravated Sexual Battery. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and is under a $45,000.00 dollar bond.

The family of the victim will be assisted by the Children’s Advocacy Center and Child Protective Services.

The criminal investigation is continuing.
