Skeletal Remains Found off Boy Scout Road in 2018 Identified

Hamilton County, TN - The human skeletal remains located on November 16, 2018 at 1012 Boy Scout Road, in Hixson, Tennessee, (unincorporated) have been identified by the University of North Texas as Jerry (Leroy) Paul Guess. The remains were previously sent to the University of Tennessee Forensic Anthropology Center in March of 2019, before being sent to the University of North Texas for DNA analysis in April 2019.

Guess was last seen on May 30, 2018 in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, and was reported missing on the same date. Guess was (43) years of age at the time of he reported missing.

The Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the death as undetermined.

HCSO Investigates Skeletal Remains Found Near Boy Scout Road

Hamilton County, TN – On Friday, November 16, 2018, at approximately 12:00 noon, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office personnel were notified that a local hunter had discovered what he believed to be skeletal remains in a field near the 1000 block of Boy Scout Road.

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division detectives immediately responded to the scene to investigate.

After review, the skeletal remains appear to be human.

HCSO personnel have secured the area and are presently working with the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office to process the scene.

This incident remains an active investigation and no further details are available at this time.
