Hamilton County, TN – The suspect involved in yesterday’s Chattanooga Police Department officer involved shooting has been identified as Mykel Dexter Jenkins (Age 29).

Suspect Jenkins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

The HCSO does not identify the officers involved in these types of incidents and instead, refers questions of that nature to the respective department to answer as it sees fit.

As this is an ongoing investigation, no further details will be released at this time.
