Hamilton County, TN – Each year, by presidential proclamation, the first Thursday in May has been designated as the National Day of Prayer and is celebrated in cities and counties throughout the United States.

In recognition of this national event, a local prayer service was held on the Hamilton County Courthouse lawn and was organized by the Chattanooga House of Prayer in coordination with several local churches and faith-based organizations.

During today’s ceremony, Sheriff Jim Hammond, along with other elected officials and citizens, joined together to pray for our country, our state, and our community.

The event was well attended by local community residents and elected officials.
