HCSO School Resource Officers Awarded Commendations
Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this afternoon, three Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers were awarded commendations by Sheriff Jim Hammond and Chief Deputy Austin Garrett for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Deputy Mark Easterly
Deputy Mark Easterly was awarded a commendation for his efforts to investigate and solve a string of suspicious fires throughout Hamilton County beginning in October of 2019.
During his investigation, SRO Easterly was able to develop leads, watched hours of surveillance video, and interviewed witnesses. Ultimately, his efforts led to a person of interest and an eventual arrest.
Due to his efforts, SRO Easterly cleared (13) cases and charged the suspect with (11) Counts of Arson and (5) counts of Reckless Burning.
Deputies’ Marcus Dotson and Hamilton McCaleb
Deputies’ Marcus Dotson and Hamilton McCaleb were awarded commendations for their efforts to save the life of an individual on Monday, May 3, 2021. Deputy Dotson, along with Deputy Hamilton McCaleb, administered CPR and
Naloxone quickly and without hesitation thus saving the individual’s life.
During today’s ceremony, Deputies’ Easterly, Dotson, and McCaleb were joined by the supervisors and colleagues.
The dedication and professionalism shown by these School Resource Officers exemplifies the role of a dedicated public servant and are in keeping with the highest standards of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
