Hamilton County, TN - On Monday, August 30, 2021, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office inmate Morghan Jean Elmore (Age 30), died from apparent complications from COVID-19 at a local hospital.

Elmore was arrested on August 13, 2021 by Chattanooga Police Department personnel. She was transported to a local hospital on August 21, 2021.

Because this is considered an in-custody death, the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office has requested the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division conduct an investigation.
