HCSO Corrections Deputies Awarded Commendation
Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this morning, Sheriff Jim Hammond and Chief Deputy Austin Garrett presented a commendation and sheriff’s challenge coin to Corrections Lieutenant Charles Lowery, III, and Corrections Corporal Tyler Wooden for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Corrections Lieutenant Charles Lowery and Corporal Tyler Wooden were awarded a commendation for their efforts to foil an attempted escape of an inmate from the Silverdale Detention Center on July 23, 2021.
Corrections Corporal Wooden, being observant at his post, recognized that an arrestee was trying to blend into a group of recently released inmates and attempted to stop the him. A short foot pursuit ensued and the inmate was taken into custody just outside the Foxtrot Building with assistance from Corrections Lieutenant Charles Lowery, III.
“The actions of these deputies exemplify the role of a dedicated public servant and are in keeping with the highest standards of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and their deeds and actions should be commended. It is an honor to serve alongside the men and women of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office,” Chief Deputy Austin Garrett.
