HCSO Hosts Retirement Recognition Ceremony for Detective Jim Usry
Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this morning, Sheriff Austin Garrett, members of his executive staff, and Law Enforcement Services hosted a retirement recognition ceremony for Detective Jim Usry.
Detective Usry has dedicated decades of service to the HCSO and the citizens of Hamilton County. With over 31 years of service to this agency, he has served in a variety of positions including Corrections Deputy, Patrol Deputy, and Detective.
As a Detective, he served in Investigative Services, Narcotics and Special Investigations, and Criminal Warrants. In addition to these duties, Detective Usry has served as a longstanding member of the HCSO SWAT Team since 2001 and as a Taskforce Officer with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) from 2001 – 2005.
In addition to his law enforcement duties, Detective Usry also served on the Silverdale Transition Team organized by former Sheriff Jim Hammond and then Chief Deputy Austin Garrett. The team was directed to oversee the monumental task of transitioning the oversight and ownership of the Silverdale Detention Center (now Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center) from CoreCivic to the HCSO.
Detective Jim Usry has shown professionalism and great devotion to duty and his service is in keeping with the highest traditions and standards of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
During this morning’s ceremony, Detective Usry was joined by his son-in-law, Heath Autry.
