Two HCSO Deputies Receive Star of Life Awards from CECA
Hamilton County, TN – Yesterday afternoon, Sheriff Austin Garrett recognized Patrol Deputies Aaron Cameron and Nathan Fountain for being recipients of this year’s Children’s Emergency Care Alliance’s (CECA) Star of Life Award for Region 3.
Deputies Cameron and Fountain were recognized for their life-saving efforts to help a family whose tent was hit by a fallen tree during a storm on Soddy Lake last year on July 1, 2023.
In addition to Deputies Cameron and Fountain, personnel with the Soddy Daisy Police Department, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), Soddy Daisy Fire Department, and Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services were also recognized by CECA for their life-saving efforts during this incident.
“Each and every day, the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office perform above and beyond their assigned duties, the majority of which, go unnoticed to the general public. Their actions, particularly those that rise to the level of life preservation, which is one of our most fundamental roles in public safety, should be highly regarded and acknowledged. I am proud of Deputies Aaron Cameron and Nathan Fountain for their efforts to help save this family and I appreciate CECA for taking the time to recognize not only their efforts, but all those who responded to this call on July 1, 2023,” stated Sheriff Austin Garrett.
