Sheriff Jim Hammond would like to express his appreciate to the citizens of Hamilton County for their cooperation in dealing with the snow issues. Due to the serious problems with snow and icy road conditions, everyone was requested to drive only if absolutely necessary. Although manpower was not an issue but because road conditions deteriorated so quickly, Deputies were able to concern themselves with priority calls.

A small number of traffic related crashes were reported but no serious injuries occurred. The quick work of both the County and State Highway Departments in keeping the roads as clear as possible also contributed to the low number of traffic crashes and injuries. It is safe to say that everyone played a part in keeping the number of traffic related crashes down during this time.
