The Law Enforcement Memorial held each year to honor our fallen officers is scheduled for May 12, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Memorial site located just adjacent to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, at 600 Market Street.

This year will be particularly sad, as the loss of Chattanooga Police Department Sergeant Tim Chapin is still so recent in our lives. We as a community grieve, but the loss to his family, law enforcement family and friends is still very fresh and filled with deep sadness.

This Memorial honors all the men and women who work in law enforcement but specifically honors our officers killed in the line of duty. Police Officers risk their lives every day to serve and protect the public and is a calling very few accept. This event is held each year to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and so that we never forget.
