New Internet Access for Records Request
On Tuesday July 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. a short power point presentation will be made available for all media to view on the easy access for future report requests and to answer any questions you may have. This will be held in the Sheriff’s conference room located at 600 Market Street. Anyone interested can enter by the front doors on Market Street.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Records Division has made it possible now for citizens to receive copies of incident and traffic reports over the internet.
Sheriff Jim Hammond always encourages employees to explore new and more efficient ways to serve the sheriff’s office and assist citizens. As citizens’ requests for copies of reports have continued to escalate, this has put a huge burden on the employees who work in the Records Division. Frances Owens, in Records, suggested that this information be made available to citizens over the internet.
Ms. Owens idea was forwarded to our I.T. Division and within a week a form was developed and posted on the sheriff’s office user-friendly public website for citizens to access these reports. Each request also needs to be accompanied with a copy of the requesting party’s driver’s license as a form of identification. There is no charge to the public for this service.
