Student Tasered at Howard High School
On October 27, 2008 at approximately 10:12 a.m. a fight involving five male students at Howard High School occurred on school property. Four of the five students involved in the fight complied with the orders to stop fighting. The fifth student continued to act in an aggressive manner. Even after numerous requests by school administrators to calm down, the student continued to use offensive language and acting aggressive to the other students and teachers. Hamilton County Sheriff’s School Resource Officer Jamie Fields, after several warnings to the student to stop the aggressive behavior did use the taser to get him under control.
The student was transported to Erlanger Hospital to be checked by medical personnel. The first four students involved in the fight were charged with Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. Deputy Jamie Fields obtained attachments on the fifth student for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
