Howard Middle School student arrested
A fourteen year old student at Howard Middle School was arrested this morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. and charged with Carrying a Weapon on School Property. The information was given to the school Principal, Paul Smith, that there was a possibility that the student was in possession of a handgun. The student, during the conversation with Mr. Smith and the School Resource Officer admitted that he did have a weapon. A .25 caliber handgun was found unloaded in the student’s locker. The investigation concerning this incident is on-going by the Hamilton County School Resource Officer, Jeremy Durham.
The student was transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. No court date is known at this time.
