The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division arrested Melvin Lester Odum age 54 today at approximately 1:00 p.m. following a week long undercover investigation.

The undercover investigation was initiated last week from a Theft/Burglary case in Catoosa County, Georgia. Mr. Odum was arrested without incident today in the 7800 block of East Brainerd Road and charged with the following: Solicitation TCA 39-12-102, Compounding TCA 39-16-604 and Extortion TCA 39-14-112. He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
