HCSO Fugitive Sergeant Ragan McDevitt Recognized for 25 Years of Service
Hamilton County, TN – On Monday, May 1, 2017, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Sergeant, Ragan McDevitt, was recognized for (25) years of dedicated service to the HCSO and the community of Hamilton County.
Several of his colleagues were on hand for the presentation including Captain of Investigative Services, Chuck Gaston, and Fugitive Division Lieutenant, Van Hinton.
Sergeant McDevitt has served in numerous positions and divisions within the HCSO including (4) years in the Corrections Division as a Corrections Deputy, (13) years in Patrol as a Deputy, and (5) years as the Eastside Patrol Sergeant. His most recent assignment has been Sergeant over the Fugitive Division. Sergeant McDevitt also served 1 ½ years as a Park Ranger prior to joining the HCSO.
During his tenure in the Fugitive Division, Sergeant McDevitt has been instrumental in numerous Fugitive Warrant Round-ups and Sex Offender Operations.
According to his direct line supervisor, Fugitive Lieutenant Van Hinton, "Sergeant McDevitt is well respected by his colleagues and is known to be a good listener, fair, and a hard working sergeant."
Sergeant McDevitt is married and has (5) children and (5) grand-children.
