Captain Charles Lowery Recognized for 40 Years of Service
Hamilton County, TN – Recently, Operational Support Division Captain, Charles Lowery, Jr., was recognized by Deputy Chief of Law Enforcement, Bill Johnson, for 40 years of dedicated service to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Hamilton County.
As Captain of the Operational Support Division, Captain Lowery is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of numerous divisions including School Resource Officers, Reserves, Marine Patrol, Training, K-9, Motorpool, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Safe Journey, RIID, Hostage Negotiation (HNT), Special Events, and the Property and Evidence Room.
During his forty year career, Captain Lowery has served in numerous capacities within the HCSO including positions in the School Resource Officer Division, Traffic Division, Patrol Division, and Training Division. Furthermore, Captain Lowery has the distinction of being the very first School Resource Officer (SRO) in Hamilton County and the first African American to be hired by the HCSO with a college degree as well as the first African American Motorcycle Traffic Investigator in the HCSO.
Captain Charles Lowery has been and continues to be a motivating force in the HCSO and we are all proud of his many accomplishments.

"He is passionate about helping our younger deputies build a meaningful and successful career and he is a natural leader among his peers. Charles has earned the respect of this agency, his colleagues, and the appreciation of our community." he further noted.
Captain Charles Lowery is married to Patricia Lowery, his wife of 41 years, and together, they have three children, Kimberly, LaTrisha, and Charles III. Captain Lowery’s son, Charles, serves as a Corporal in the HCSO Corrections Division and is following in his father’s footsteps.
Captain Lowery has five grandchildren and is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.
