HCSO Detectives Receive Commendations
Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this morning, Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond presented HCSO Detectives’ Robert Rush and Sergeant Greg Carson commendations for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Sergeant Greg Carson received a commendation for his efforts to investigate a string of vehicle thefts and burglaries from automobiles in Hamilton County.
Sergeant Carson’s efforts help to generate substantial leads on twenty-two cases and ultimately led to the arrest of (8) suspects and (121) cumulative felony and misdemeanor charges for those involved.
Detective Robert Rush received a commendation for his efforts to investigate a string of residential burglaries in Hamilton County and the Southeast United States.
The information obtained by Detective Rush’s diligent investigation, including the details he shared with other local and state law enforcement agencies, led to the reopening of multiple cases in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Florida and South Carolina. The investigation(s) revealed a very large, sophisticated, and well-funded organized crime ring operating across the United States. This crime ring was made up exclusively of Hispanics who were targeting Asian and Indian business owners.
The professionalism shown by Sergeant Carson and Detective Rush exemplifies their commitment to this community and their profession and are in keeping with the highest standards of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
Several HCSO personnel were on hand for today’s ceremony at the East Annex including Chief Deputy Allen Branum, Director of Support Services, Gino Bennett, Deputy Chief of Law Enforcement Bill Johnson, Captain Chuck Gaston, numerous personnel from the HCSO Criminal Investigations Division.
