HCSO Corrections Deputies Participate in Career Day
Hamilton County, TN - On Friday, March 30th, Hamilton County Corrections Corporal Tracey Case and Corrections Officers’ Jorge Araiza and Amy Rankhorn participated in Rock Spring Elementary School’s Career Day in Rock Spring, Georgia. The school’s Career Day event is offered to its students annually and receives support from many professions including law enforcement, fire and rescue, medical, construction, landscaping, sports, and many others.
Corporal Case, Officer Araiza, and Officer Rankhorn shared information with the students on what it is like to work inside a Correctional facility, what it takes to succeed in the profession, and the importance of good grades, staying out of trouble, and completing their education. They spoke to several 2nd grade classes, answered many interesting questions, and distributed HCSO coloring books, pencils, and badges to the students.
The students were able to dress up like their favorite profession and if you look closely at the included pictures, you can see a future SWAT Deputy in the group.
Participating in these events help encourage children to feel safe around law enforcement and let them know we are here to protect them and the communities where they live.
Special thanks to Corporal Case, Officer Araiza, and Officer Rankhorn for participating in this event.
