High Profile Felony Fugitive Apprehended
HCSO – Collegedale Police Department Arrest High Profile Felony Fugitive
Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this morning in a coordinated effort, several divisions within the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and Collegedale Police Department arrested William “Terry” McDaniel in Collegedale, Tennessee (DOB 3-11-78).
HCSO Fugitive Division personnel, along with numerous other local, state, and federal agencies, have been actively searching for McDaniel for several weeks due to numerous outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants stemming from a variety of incidents spanning jurisdictions including Collegedale, Hamilton County, Meigs County, Walker County, Bradley County, and Catoosa County. McDaniel was determined to be a high risk felony suspect that warranted a direct, targeted operational plan of apprehension. McDaniel had reportedly made numerous threats to harm himself and members of the law enforcement community.
At approximately 9:00 am today, a Collegedale Police Department Motor Officer encountered a male motorcycle rider breaking the speed limit within the Collegedale city limits and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The driver of the motorcycle (later to be determined to be Terry McDaniel), fled the scene and led the officer on a pursuit. As the pursuit ensued, it was learned that simultaneously the HCSO FAST Team (part of the HCSO Fugitive Division) was in the same area following up on viable intelligence of McDaniel’s whereabouts.
As the pursuit followed, the motorcycle McDaniel was riding began having mechanical problems causing McDaniel to pull over, abandon the motorcycle, and flee on foot. Law enforcement personnel then pursued McDaniel on foot where he was apprehended shortly thereafter by a HCSO K-9.
