HCSO Participates in 2018 Annual Minority Health Fair
Hamilton County, TN – On Saturday, August 18, 2018, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office personnel participated in the 2018 Annual Minority Health Fair at Eastgate Town Center. The event took place from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
During this time, numerous health, medical, and safety organizations and providers were onsite and available to assist our community’s citizens with services and information regarding care and support.
The HCSO also brought our mobile Drug Take-Back Box to collect any expired, unnecessary prescription drugs that residents may have and need to properly dispose of in a safe manner. The HCSO Drug Take-Back Program helps reduce prescription drug abuse in our community and keeps our water clean by reducing the amount of medications that are flushed down toilets as a means of disposal.
In total, 39 pounds of prescription drugs were collected and will now be safely disposed of by the proper authorities.
Special thanks to Property & Evidence Collection Technician Mike Fulmer, HCSO Narcotics Division staff, and HCSO Reserve Deputies’ Greg Smith, Marty Gaffin, and Ethan Parrot for participating in this important community event.
