HCSO Reserve Deputies Participate in the 2018 CDSS Buddy Walk
Hamilton County, TN – This past weekend, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was very busy actively participating in several events including the Chattanooga Down Syndrome Society’s annual Buddy Walk and the Presidential visit at UTC.
This year marks the third year Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office law enforcement personnel have participated in the Chattanooga Down Syndrome Society’s annual Buddy Walk. Each year, the attendees get to choose from local celebrities, sports players, first responders, or law enforcement personnel and have them escort them to the stage to receive their medals.
The Buddy Walk is a public awareness event that offers an opportunity to expand the mission of the Chattanooga Down Syndrome Society as it seeks to enhance the quality of life for all individuals with Down Syndrome in the Greater Chattanooga area by providing resources, education, awareness, advocacy, and community support.
Special thanks to HCSO Reserve Deputies’ Mike Hatfield, David Mays, Marty Gaffin, Jeff Eversole, and Kevin Ritchey for escorting their new friends to the stage and for helping to make this event a great success for those in attendance.
