Arrest of Deputy John Spaulding
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was recently notified by the White County Sheriff’s Department of an investigation involving Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy John Spaulding regarding his alleged improper contact with two juveniles in White County.
Deputy was originally suspended with pay December 26, 2009 pending the outcome of the investigation.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has been updated on the status of the investigation and was notified on January 6, 2010 that the White County Grand Jury returned two indictments for Aggravated Sexual Battery against Deputy Spaulding. Spaulding was booked on the charges in White County on Tuesday.
Deputy Spaulding’s current status is suspended without pay with further discipline pending the outcome of the criminal charges.
Sheriff Jim Hammond said, “Investigators with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office have been kept updated and communicated with White County investigators during this investigation and will continue to assist as needed.”
