Corrections Deputy Gazzaway Receives Prestigious Award
HCSO Corrections Security Team Deputy Recognized as Gang Investigator of the Year
Hamilton County, TN – Recently, the Tennessee Gang Investigators Association (TNGIA) held their annual conference on August 21st – 24th in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
During this year’s conference, the TNGIA recognized Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Security Team Deputy Justin Gazzaway as the 2023 TNGIA Gang Investigator of the Year. This award was given to Deputy Gazzaway in recognition of his efforts and work in gang investigations and validations at the Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center.
Founded in 1998, the Tennessee Gang Investigators Association (TNGIA) includes Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Court System Professionals whose interest or primary investigative responsibilities include the identification and prosecution of crimes related to gang activity.
The TNGIA Mission is to provide a network of trained and organized law enforcement officers united against groups whose intent is to break the law.
The TNGIA coordinates efforts among gang investigators with a view towards a more extensive and rapid dissemination and exchange of information concerning gang-related incidents, suspects, and investigations.
