HSCO Participates in Portrait Unveiling of Former Judge Mike Carter
Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this afternoon, Sheriff Austin Garrett and members of his executive staff joined with local and state elected officials, public servants, members of our local legal community and judges, and the family of former Hamilton County Judge and State Representative, Mike Carter, to unveil his official portrait in the Hamilton County Courts Building.
For over four decades, Mike Carter, served the citizens of Hamilton County and the State of Tennessee with great honor and distinction. Throughout his illustrious career, he served as a notable attorney, General Counsel for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton County General Sessions Judge, and prior to his untimely passing in 2021, he served as the State Representative for District 29.
Today, his wife Joan Carter, who was appointed to serve the remainder of his term as State Representative after his passing, joined with her sons, Stephen and Tim, along with their wives and children, to unveil Judge Mike Carter’s official portrait that will hang in the Hamilton County Courts Building.
“Like countless others throughout our county, I was privileged to call Mike Carter a dear friend. The impact his legacy leaves on this county and the people whose lives he influenced is immeasurable. It was an honor to join the Carter Family today as we commemorate this portrait and tribute to Mike,” stated Sheriff Austin Garrett.
