HCSO Welcomes Nine New Law Enforcement & Corrections Employees
Hamilton County, TN – Earlier this morning, Hamilton County Sheriff Austin Garrett and members of his executive staff officially welcomed nine of our agency’s newest employees. These individuals will be assigned to the Hamilton County Jail, School Resource Deputy Unit, Judicial Security Services, and Fleet Services.
Each of these new recruits come from various law enforcement agencies across our region and our nation including the California Highway Patrol, New York City Police Department (NYPD), and Washington State. Several of the new recruits also have prior military service in the U.S. Army.
Our new personnel are as follows:
Carlos Medina – School Resource Deputy (SRD)
- Retired as a Detective after (29) years of service with the New York City Police Department (NYPD)
Mark McMahon – Judicial Security Deputy
- Retired after (30.5) years of service with the California Highway Patrol
- Previously served in the Placer County Sheriff’s Office - (1) year
- U.S. Army Veteran (Military Police) - (4) years
James Syler – Sheriff’s Deputy
- Retired after (26) years of service with the Lakewood Police Department in Washington State
- U.S. Army Veteran
Monica Mills – School Resource Deputy (SRD)
- Previously served in the Atlanta Police Department
- (6) years of Law Enforcement service
Jonathan Park – Sheriff’s Deputy
- Previously served in the Chattanooga Police Department
- (3.5) years of Law Enforcement service
- U.S. Army Veteran
Shawn Chester – Corrections Deputy
- Previously Served at the Walker State Prison
- (6) months of Corrections Service
Benjamin Wolfe – School Resource Deputy (SRD)
- Previously served at the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department
- (3) years of Law Enforcement service
Richard Woody – Sheriff’s Deputy
- Previously served in the Cleveland Police Department
- (5) Years of Law Enforcement service
Bryan Kratochvil – Automotive Mechanic
- (34) years of Private Mechanic Shop Experience in New Lendy, Illinois
