Gun found on student involved in a fight at Howard High School
A fight broke out between two male students this afternoon at approximately 2:45 p.m. at Howard High School. Both the principal and assistant principal intervened and stopped the fight with the assistance of the School Resource Officer. The students were taken to the office and when checking the book bag of one the students involved, a loaded .38 cal. Revolver was recovered. When the serial number of the weapon was checked, it was found the gun was reported stolen from Chattanooga.
A charge of Disorderly Conduct will be filed on one of the students involved, while the second was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Carrying a Weapon on School Property and Possession of Stolen Property. He was transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center. As both students involved are juveniles, no names will be released.
