The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office received a domestic disorder call on April 17, 2010 at approximately 11:48 p.m. at 1341 McCallie Ferry Road. When deputies arrived on the scene, they observed both a male and female party in the driveway, but the male party turned and reentered the residence. The female victim advised during the disorder she had been cut and shot at by her boyfriend, Ricky Rankin.

Due to this information and the volatile situation, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was called to respond to the scene. After several hours the SWAT officers entered the residence, where Mr. Rankin was placed in custody without incident. He was charged with Domestic Aggravated Assault and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
