Drowning at the Suck Creek Boat ramp
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were called to 1900 Suck Creek Road this afternoon at approximately 5:21 p.m. on a possible drowning. When they arrived at the scene, information was received that a 47 year old white male went into the water and has not been found. The victims wife, Linda Hall stated she and her husband were sitting on the dock talking and he decided to jump into the water to cool off. When he surfaced he yelled for help and she attempted to grab him but he went back under water and never surfaced again.
Numerous emergency service agencies responded to assist in the rescue/recovery and are; Walden’s Ridge Fire Department, Chattanooga Fire Rescue Boat, Hamilton County Stars, Volunteer State Rescue and Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services. The search continued for several hours before the body was recovered at approximately 8:15 p.m. The victim was identified as Thomas Hall w/m age 47 of Chattanooga. Hamilton County Medical Services will transport the body to the Hamilton County Forensics Center.
