Pedestrian hit on Cummings Highway
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 2500 block of Cummings Highway last night around 10:20 p.m. on a pedestrian struck. The investigation at this time shows that the victim, who was identified as 48 year old Terry Bailey of Chattanooga was crossing the roadway on Cummings Highway when he was hit by a vehicle traveling west bound. The suspect vehicle did not stop after making contact with the victim.
The suspect vehicle according to witnesses was described as a Mercury and operated by a heavy set w/f with short brown hair. Traffic investigators interviewed several witnesses but are also asking if anyone has information to please contact the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office at 423-622-0022.
The victim was transported to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services. Sgt. Mark Kimsey with HCSO Traffic Division is handling the crash investigation.
