Two Charged with Arson by HCSO
A house fire reported on April 16, 2010 at 1625 Montlake Road has been under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and Hamilton County Fire Investigation Task Force. When Chief Johnathan Peterson with the Mowbray Fire Department arrived on the scene of the fire he advised the residence belonged to a member of the Mowbray Fire Department. He requested that a fire investigator with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office respond to conduct the fire investigation. Total loss was estimated at $131,355.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Detective David Sowder conducted the criminal investigation and presented evidence to the Hamilton County Grand Jury. Indictments were returned charging James Andrew Russ age 40 and Randy Kaye Russ age 35 with Arson, Conspiracy to Commit Arson, Fraudulent Insurance Claims and Felony Solicitation to Commit Arson.
Both James Russ and Randy Kaye Russ were arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail under a $15,000 bond.
