Successful HCSO Toy Drive
The HCSO “Caring Cops Toy Drive” for 2010 was a huge success. The hard work of School Resource Officers who along with their assigned schools and students really contributed to the amount of toys collected.
Deputy Robert Stockburger, who is the School Resource Officer for Ooltewah Middle School out did himself again this year for the toy drive. Deputy Stockburger along with the Ooltewah Middle School PTA and students organized a Community Day that included a car show, activities for children, music and good food. Participants were asked to bring an unwrapped toy for the toy drive.
Along with the Community Day we also had a Cheerleading and Dance Competition that was held at Soddy Daisy High School and sponsored by “We’ve Got Spirit” located on Highway 58. There were over 500 participants with 35 different teams involved in the competition. Each participant was requested to bring an unwrapped toy and we were fortunate to collect over 1000 toys to benefit the toy drive.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend a thank you to all who supported this year’s toy drive and helped us make this a successful event.
