Traffic fatality on Highway 60
This afternoon at approximately 5:15 p.m. the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a traffic crash reported in the 6800 block of Highway 60. Traffic investigators found that two vehicles were involved, a 2000 GMC truck and a 1996 Ford Mustang. The truck was traveling east bound on Highway 60 and crossed over into the path of the Ford Mustang traveling west bound. The crash was head on killing both driver and passenger of the Ford Mustang on impact. The driver of the GMC Ford truck was transported to Erlanger Hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Service with non-life threatening injuries.
At this time there was no indication at the scene of either alcohol or speed being a factor, although the investigation is on-going and being handled by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.
No names will be released pending the notification of next of kin.
