This afternoon at approximately 3:54 p.m. the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to 5523 Barnes Road on shots fired. When deputies arrived on the scene and spoke with neighbors they found that earlier Michael Sweeney w/m fired a weapon outside of his residence. Several friends had already removed a long gun and hand gun from Mr. Sweeney but after he reentered his residence they found that he had another hand gun.

While talking to neighbors information was learned that the suspect was drinking and agitated over the break up with his girlfriend. When he repeatedly refused to talk with deputies the decision was made to call out the SWAT team to negotiate with Mr. Sweeney.

This incident ended after several hours, with the suspect coming out and surrendering to deputies. No injuries occurred and Mr. Sweeney will face criminal charges of Reckless Endangerment.
