27 South Chase Arrest
This afternoon at approximately 2:45 p.m. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Rhea County Sheriff’s Office they were attempting to get a 2007 Ford truck stopped south bound on Highway 27. Hamilton County became involved at the county line and attempted several times to get the vehicle stopped. The truck reached speeds in excess of 80 miles an hour, refusing to stop for law enforcement. During this time, the driver tried to ram a marked vehicle two times.
Speed spikes were utilized, causing damage to the front tires of the truck. The driver continued on until contact was made with the concrete siding of the highway between Harrison Lane exit and the Thrasher exit. The female driver, identified as Stacey Campbell age 28 left the truck and ran, leaving three children still seated inside. Deputies took Ms. Campbell in custody and placed the charges of Felony Evading, three counts of Reckless Endangerment, Possession of Marijuana and two counts of Aggravated Assault. She was transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
