Operation Medicine Cabinet
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will partner with Chattanooga State Medical/Health Services Department for the “FOURTH ANNUAL COMMUNITY HEALTH, FUN AND WELLNESS EXPO.”
This event will allow people who want to get rid of unwanted prescriptions the ability to drop them off for legal disposal. This will also reduce the risk of prescription drugs entering the water, potentially harming aquatic life or getting into a human water supply. A take back program reduces the risk of prescription drugs being consumed inappropriately by accident or by illegal sale.
Chattanooga State will provide several pharmacists to answer any questions that may come up with the event. Graduates students from the University of Tennessee/Knoxville Pharmacy School will be onsite for questions as well as “CAPS” (Chattanooga Area Pharmacists). There will be exhibits, Physicians and other health care professionals as well have one on one consultations.
This is the third drug take back for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
