Apison Tornado Recovery Ride
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will be escorting the Apison Tornado Recovery Ride on Sunday, May 22, 2011.
The ride is a benefit bicycle ride organized to assist the victims of the recent storms that devastated that community. Apison is a popular area for cycling, and this ride will provide an opportunity for the cyclists to show support and contribute financially to the people who live in that area.
All registration fees for the event will be donated to the Greater Chattanooga Area American Red Cross, designated for use in the Apison area.
The ride will start at Westview Elementary School at 9629 East Brainerd Road. Registration begins at 3:00 pm, and the ride begins at 5:00 pm.
Registration fee: Minimum donation of $25.00 per rider (cash or check only).
There will two routes for riders to choose from: 10-12 miles and 30-35 miles. Helmets are required for both rides, and there will be no food or water stops along the routes.
