Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were sent to 5517 Barn Road this afternoon at approximately 6:07 p.m. on a car fire. They arrived at the address along with Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department and observed a male party exit the residence armed with a weapon. The subject raised and discharged the weapon toward responding law enforcement who then returned fire.

The subject was struck by the return fire and was transported to Erlanger Medical Center by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services to be treated for his injuries.

At this time the incident is under investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available. There are charges pending against the subject. All officers involved have been placed on administrative leave as per policy and their names will not be released at this time.
