Two charged for Theft
Quick action by an observant resident resulted in the arrest of two parties who have been charged with theft. The two defendants were observed taking packages delivered to residences by Fed Ex and UPS in the Stonewall subdivision in Hixson. A description of their vehicle, which was described as a White Chevy or GMC Blazer, no visible tag or rear bumper was broadcasted to the patrol division.
The vehicle was spotted pulling out from the Ramsgate subdivision and stopped by officers at an area store. When deputies approached the vehicle, a brown package was observed lying between the driver and passenger seats. Both parties, who were identified as Jeremy Hope w/m age 34 and Rachael Myers (Brownfield) w/f age 28 cooperated with the investigation and other property was located that suggest other thefts have occurred.
Detectives charged both Jeremy Hope and Rachael Myers with two counts of Theft under $500 and additional theft cases are being investigated in the Harrison and Ooltewah areas of Hamilton County. Detectives with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office have requested anyone who may have been a victim in this type of theft or have seen the suspect vehicle to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 423-622-0022.
