Last night at approximately 9:00 p.m. Chattanooga Police Department was called to 4502 Rossville Blvd. regarding a gunshot victim. Information was obtained that the shooting took place at an address located outside the city limits of Chattanooga. At that time the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was notified and initiated the criminal investigation.

The victim, Demarcus Hightower age 25 stated he was at a residence located around Ooltewah-Ringgold Road with several friends. While there two unidentified males entered and robbed the victim and his friends at gunpoint. The victim stated that a struggle took place and during that struggle he sustained a gunshot to the back of the head. The victim was enroute to his girlfriends’ residence when found by police. He was transported to Erlanger Hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Services where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Detectives with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division are continuing the investigation.
