HCSO receives grant from Governors Highway Safety Office
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has received grant funding in the amount of $49,900.00 for the period of October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012 from Governor’s Highway Safety Office (GHSO). This funding will allow the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office to concentrate and patrol for those who choose to drive impaired.
This grant will give deputies the opportunity to remove impaired and drunk drivers from the roadways and make the roads safer for the citizens of Hamilton County. This will also allow the Sheriff’s Office to place more vehicles and deputies on the road during the hours when most impaired or drunk drivers are on the roadway. The deputies will patrol throughout all of Hamilton County, to include the unincorporated areas, and all municipalities within Hamilton County. The deputies’ responsibilities will be to seek out those who choose to drive impaired as well as any other violations observed by the deputy.
The Governor’s Highway Safety Office and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office are committed to and will continue to work toward enforcing laws and saving lives in Hamilton County.
