Four Charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery
On March 8, 2012 at approximately 7:51 p.m. the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to 5409 Mulberry Street (Ooltewah) on a reported robbery. When Deputies arrived on scene the victim’s identified as Alan Benjamin age 19, Daniel Smith age 18 and Lucas Braden age 18, stated they had been robbed.
The victims told deputies they were sitting in a vehicle parked in front of 5409 Mulberry Street, when they noticed a four door white vehicle drive past their vehicle. The car proceeded to the dead end, then backed up stopping at the rear of their vehicle. Five male parties exited the four door white vehicle, approached and ordered them to exit their vehicle. The victims stated two of the male parties had weapons described as black handguns. The weapons were pointed at the victims, who were ordered to drop their pants and hand over their wallets and cell phones. The suspects also searched through the victims car, taking a car stereo, then left the scene.
The victims advised deputies they could identify four of the suspects, who were Cody Chase age 18, Johnny Myrick age 21, Darien Clay age 19 and James Amaud Taylor age 20. They were located at the residence of Cody Chase (5204 Village Garden Drive). All four parties were taken into custody, charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery. The weapons were located and described as two black pellets guns. The fifth suspect has not been identified at this time.
