Cheer & Dance Toy Event
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will be partnering with “We’ve Got Spirit” for a Cheer and Dance Competition to be held on April 14, 2012 at the Chattanooga Convention Center, 1150 Carter Street, Chattanooga. The competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.
This event will involve cheer and dance teams from area schools and dance facilities and they will compete in their age groups. Each girl competing will bring a toy and all toys collected will be donated to Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter and Bethel Bible Village. A representative from Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter and Bethel Bible Village will be present at the close of the competition to receive the donated toys.
Ms. Dee Dee Barnes who is the owner operator of the business “We’ve Got Spirit” feels it is important to give back to the community. What better way than to provide toys to these facilities that do such a wonderful job of taking care of children when it is needed the most!
The Children’s Home/Chambliss Shelter is a local non-profit organization, serving children since 1872. CH/CS operates two main programs- an early childhood education & childcare program that is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to allow parents to work or attend school and a residential program for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, abandonment, neglect, or delinquency and are in the custody of the State.
Bethel Bible Village provides a Christian home for children of families in crisis. They serve around 50 children annually and the intervention of the staff and special programs offered at Bethel help children understand they are special and can make it in life.
