Vehicle found in pond on Old Dayton Pike
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to 12504 Old Dayton Pike this morning at approximately 6:35 a.m. regarding a vehicle submerged in a pond. When deputies arrived on scene a maroon colored vehicle was located submerged in the water.
Due to the fact it was unknown if the driver and or passengers could possibly be still in the vehicle, members of the HCSO dive team were called to the scene. The divers, using the Video Ray Pro 4 (ROV), searched the submerged vehicle as well as the area in and around it and nothing was found.
The vehicle, a 2000 maroon Jaguar was pulled from the water by a local wrecker service. The HCSO divers then checked the pond area making sure it was clear.
The driver, identified as Vicente Trejo-Velasco h/m age 25 returned to the scene after several hours. He advised the traffic investigator he was traveling too fast and lost control of the vehicle and ended up in the water. He walked to his residence before going to work. The investigation is on-going and is being handled by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division.
