The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office received numerous theft complaints that occurred over the last several days in the 6800 block of Captains Way, Hixson. On July 14, 2012 at approximately 4:00 a.m. one of the complainants called to say a small brown truck was driving slowly through the neighborhood with male subjects getting in and out of the truck. They were observed approaching vehicles parked in driveways in the neighborhood. Deputies located the truck on another street in the neighborhood and as they approached the vehicle on the drivers side, observed what appeared to be a large amount of items in and around the driver.

At this time, there are twenty-three (23) reported thefts/burglaries in this neighborhood. Detectives are working on sorting and cataloging the recovered property, which consists of everything from sunglasses to GPS equipment.

This investigation is on-going and several arrests are expected to be made.
