The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to the 4200 block of W Road earlier today at approximately 9:40 a.m. on a traffic crash involving a single vehicle. When deputies arrived on scene they found the 2000 Volkswagen Jetta being operated by Tristan Farris w/m age 24 had been traveling east bound down the W Road.

The initial investigation of the crash revealed the vehicle traveling east bound, went off the right side of the road. When the driver attempted to regain control on the wet roadway, the vehicle began to slide sideways across the road colliding with a large tree located on the right side of the roadway.

The driver was unconscious at the scene and provided emergency treatment by Walden’s Ridge Emergency Services who was assisted by Signal Mountain Fire Department. Farris, who sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash, was transported to an area hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services.

The investigation is being handled by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division and is on-going.
