This afternoon at approximately 2:15 p.m., the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was notified to respond to 1679 Dallas Lake Road on a single vehicle traffic crash involving a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle (three wheeler).

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as Kathy Mason age 63 of Hixson, Tennessee, had been transported to an area hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services where she later died from the injuries she sustained in the crash.

The traffic investigation revealed she was traveling south on Dallas Hollow and made a right turn to go westbound on Dallas Lake Road. During the turn the motorcycle went off the roadway on the left side going into a ditch. The motorcycle traveled through the ditch, hitting a culvert, at which time the driver was ejected from the motorcycle. The motorcycle went airborne before coming to rest back on its tires.

The investigation is on-going and will be handled by the HCSO Traffic Division.
