Update Information on Burglary & Pursuit
Information update regarding the burglary in progress call on Laurel Breeze Drive, received yesterday morning, November 18, 2013. Information was received from the victim that the two suspects left the scene in a silver sedan. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle eluded them and a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle was located in the Fontaine Woods Apartments complex located on Mountain Creek Road, where the suspects fled into the woods.
The suspects’ vehicle contained numerous items to include a Stihl Chainsaw, Dewalt Grinder and hunting bows that were linked to a burglary on Roberts Mill Road. The suspects also threw two long guns from the vehicle during the pursuit. (Weapons were recovered)
One of the suspects, Cole Howard was captured when he came out of the woods on the W Road. The second suspect, Christopher Whitford, turned himself into the Hamilton County Jail yesterday evening on charges related to this incident.
Charged were: Cole Nathaniel Howard age 24 and Christopher Whitford age 24 with two counts of Aggravated Burglary, Theft, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, Destruction of Evidence and Criminal Conspiracy.
